Why Should I Go To Therapy?
I whole-heartedly believe that going to therapy is self-care. Sometimes we can’t see a solution to problem, or we get stuck, because we are ‘in it.’ There are a lot of stereotypes about therapy: that you have to be crazy, and that a therapist tells you what to do. Neither of these are true. It is normal to go to therapy when feelings become out of control, you are experiencing a life transition, you feel sad, or you feel stuck. I believe that every person knows themself the best. I work to create a space and dialogue that allows a person to come to their own conclusions and solutions. Therapists often point out patterns, recommend books or other readings, and provide tools to help with emotional regulation that can often be quite helpful.
